Hey there! I’m Erin, aspiring author and old book collector. I’m currently a junior in college double majoring in creative writing and psychology, with minors in classical studies and human development & family studies. That doesn’t mean I have the slightest clue what I’m going to do with my life (besides pursue my dreams of becoming a published author), but whatever happens, I’m sure it’ll be fun.
I started this blog on a whim – sure, I planned to do it for a while, but then it just happened one day and here I still am. Before The Paper Trail was born, I was an extremely stressed out AP student who loved writing so much I wrote three full length novels during my high school experience (you can read about all of my novels here)… which really didn’t help my stress levels. I joined about a million clubs (also stress inducing), including a club where I took two international trips (or… one and a half since my second trip didn’t actually go as planned).
And then… I dreamed up The Paper Trail.
What is a paper trail?
“A series of documents providing written evidence of a sequence of events or the activities of a person or organization.”
A “series of documents”…. like a pathway of facts leading to a destination. “Evidence of a sequence of events”… like proof that life isn’t all straightforward; sometimes it throws curve balls or plot twists. This blog is my paper trail: proof of life. In five years, there will be a nice path of where I’ve been, perhaps detailing what I’ll do next. And maybe during the process, I’ll figure out how to live worry free (right now, my answer is naps).
Whatever it is I end up doing – if I become an author, travel to a new extraordinary place, or decide to change the direction of my life entirely – I hope we might end up there together. I hope through this self-development blog, we can both figure out a thing or two about the world, and maybe notice a thing or two about how we’ve grown. I hope that, while following this haphazard paper trail, we might become a little more understanding and empathetic of the world around us.
If you’re curious about what I’m currently up to, you can find me on Twitter and Instagram. And if you’re a reader like me, it might be fun to check out what’s on my Goodreads bookshelves. You can also find a compilation of a whole bunch of my random interests on Pinterest.
